Pickle Picture Show Drive In Movie At University of Mount Olive
MOUNT OLIVE—The 3rd annual Pickle Picture Show drive in movie is set for this Tuesday, April 10 in the parking lot of University of Mount Olive’s Kornegay Arena. Rain date is Thursday, April 12.
The gate opens at 7 p.m. and the movie starts at 8 p.m. Folks are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and blankets, or they can plan to watch the movie from the comfort of their cars.
Presented by University of Mount Olive, the event kicks off the 26th annual North Carolina Pickle Festival weekend, April 27-29. The drive in movie is traditionally timed during the week of Easter break for local public schools.
Because of licensing agreements, the name of the movie to be shown can’t be publicized. But it’s a remake of a 1980s classic about small town high school students who just have to dance. The rating is PG-13.
Concessions by Andy’s Cheesesteaks & Cheeseburgers will be available. Tickets are $6 in advance from the Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce, or $8 at the gate.
The N.C. Pickle Festival Main Day Saturday, April 28 gets underway at 9 a.m. and concludes at 5 p.m. For complete festival information, go to www.ncpicklefest.org, or call the Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce at (919) 658-3113.
