Ready, Set, Read!

University of Mount Olive students involved with the Professional Teachers Association (PTA), Future Educators Association (FEA), and Pi Lambda Theta (PLT )Education Honor Society collected books to donate to Jones County Public Schools.  The students chose Jones County because it was tremendously affected by the hurricane.  Barbara Lee, Director of Career and Technical Education for Jones County, indicated that the books would  be disseminated to students who come to kindergarten registration along with Pre-K and kindergarten students.   Lee, a graduate of the University of Mount Olive, was appreciative of the donation from her alma mater.  Dr. Ruby Bell, Chair of the Department of Education at UMO, noted that the collection of books was part of the University’s Gifts and Talents service initiative.
