Steinberg Receives UMO Tillman School of Business Alumni Award

WINTERVILLE, NC – Dr. Tilwanda L. Steinberg of Winterville, NC, was honored with the 2024 University of Mount Olive Tillman School of Business Alumni Award. The award was presented during the Annual Alumni Awards Ceremony, a highlight of UMO’s Homecoming Weekend, celebrating alumni who have made significant contributions to their fields and communities.

Steinberg is an accomplished leader with over 30 years of experience in the banking industry, including as a Learning and Development Specialist at Southern Bank. She earned a doctorate of business administration from Bellevue University, an MBA from Barton College, and completed her undergraduate degrees at UMO. Steinberg transitioned to higher education in August 2024 as part of the College of Business faculty at East Carolina University.

Steinberg’s professional achievements are matched by her deep commitment to community service. She is actively involved in several organizations, including the State Farm Chris Godley Board, Horizons of Pitt County, and Pitt Greenville ENC Alliance. Additionally, she participates in ECU’s Miller School Entrepreneur in Residence program, where she supports the development of future business leaders.

Steinberg’s family has been a constant source of inspiration. She has been married to her husband, Mark, for 33 years. They have two daughters, Kiara and Ashley, along with a granddaughter, MaKenzie.
