Tim Warren Receives UMO Honorary Alumnus Award

WAKE, NC—Tim Warren of Raleigh, NC, was recognized as an Honorary Alumnus at the University of Mount Olive’s Annual Alumni Awards Ceremony. The event was part of the University’s Homecoming Weekend celebration. The award recognizes individuals who have made lasting contributions to the University and its community.
Warren grew up in rural Halifax County, where his passion for agriculture began. He pursued this interest at North Carolina State University, earning a B.S. in agricultural education in 1980, followed by a M.Ed. in 1981. Warren taught agriculture for over 30 years at Hobbton High School in Sampson County, inspiring generations of students to pursue agricultural careers.
In 2014, Warren transitioned to the University of Mount Olive, where he served as the Agricultural Operations Manager and taught AG Mechanics. His dedication and leadership eventually led him to the role of Director of Agricultural Facilities and Operations. During his tenure, Warren was instrumental in establishing and maintaining the UMO Arboretum, a lasting contribution to the University’s agricultural program. His efforts have profoundly impacted the University’s students, faculty, and surrounding community.
Warren retired from the University of Mount Olive in July 2024. He resides in Raleigh with his wife, Sarah, and is the proud father of two adult children and grandfather to two grandchildren.
