
UMO Graduation Set for December 14
MOUNT OLIVE- The University of Mount Olive (UMO) will hold its fall commencement ceremony on Saturday, December 14 at 10:30 AM in Kornegay Arena. The commencement speaker will be the Reverend Ronnie V. Hobgood.
Hobgood, a native of Farmville, NC, serves as President of the Convention of Original Free Will Baptists. He graduated from Mount Olive College with his associate of science degree in religion. He obtained his bachelor of arts in religion from NC Wesleyan College and his master of arts in Christian education at Campbell University Divinity School. He has served the Original Free Will Baptist denomination in several capacities over the years and was elected President of the Convention in 2016.
Hobgood has been in pastoral ministry since his ordination in 1978. He currently serves as pastor of La Grange First Free Will Baptist Church in Lenoir County. He is a past recipient of the P. T. Lucas award for pastoral leadership. He and his wife, Mitzi, have two children, Jessica H. Moss and Joshua T. Hobgood, and two grandchildren, Emma and William Moss.
