UMO Students Experience the Thrill of the Slopes

Recently a group of 15 University of Mount Olive students and chaperons traveled to Boone, NC for a Campus Rec and Intramurals Department organized ski trip.  Seven of the attendees were first time skiers, so the one hour introductory lesson at Appalachian Ski Resort came in handy for the newbies.

Whitney Jones, assistant director of Pope Wellness Center on the UMO campus, said, “Our department loves planning these type of trips to allow students to get off campus for a while and participate in something that they’ve never tried before.  Although some of us spent a lot of time in the snow, all of the students had an awesome time.  We hope to make the ski trip an annual tradition!”
