Wake County Students Receive Awards at Mount Olive College
MOUNT OLIVE- Two Wake County students were recognized for their achievements at University of Mount Olive’s Annual Awards Ceremony. Among those receiving awards were:
Katrina Benscoter of Raleigh received the Don Miller Award. Benscoter, a senior criminal justice and criminology major, is the daughter of Pam and Bud Benscoter.
The Don Miller Award is given in memory of Detective Donald A. Miller, a Criminal Justice Department graduate and New Bern Police Department officer who gave his life in the line of duty. The award is given to the criminal justice student selected by the criminal justice faculty as showing the most promise in the field. Minimum of a 3.0 GPA, professionalism and leadership are the criteria.
Whitney Honeycutt of Raleigh received the Health Care Management Student of the Year Award. Honeycutt, a senior business health care management major, is the daughter of Bill and Shelia Honeycutt.
