Ag Awareness Day at UMO

Carver Elementary School and Brogden Primary third graders were treated to an Ag Awareness Day at UMO on April 11. The event was sponsored, planned, organized, and carried out by the University’s Collegiate FFA members. The event featured a variety of different agricultural education stations including seed germination and plant growth, soybean production, Goodness Grows in NC, NC Forest Service of Wayne County, North Carolina Pork Council, Small Grain Growers, the Sampson County Beekeepers Association, and more. Students had the chance to shake hands and dance with various fruit and vegetable characters, milk a simulated cow, and ride in a pickle train.   After lunch students were treated to an informative presentation and magic show dubbed by Shelton Entertains.
