MOUNT OLIVE- Jason Mitchell of Snow Hill has received the Original Free Will Baptist Ministerial Award at University of Mount Olive. Mitchell, a religion major is the son of Sele and Jeanean Mitchell.
Chair of the Department of Religion Dr. Tyanna Yonkers said, “It has been a joy mentoring Jason and watching him grow into his potential. Upon graduation next May, he plans to attend graduate school ultimately pursuing ordination with an eye towards pastoral ministry and teaching on the college level. He will accomplish this purpose well since he has the wonderful combination of critical thinking skills, keen intuitive interpretation of situations, and the human compassion that will enable him to be effective in both ministry and in the classroom. I look forward to watching the continued unfolding of his journey.”
