Johnston County Students Receive Awards
MOUNT OLIVE – Two Johnston County students were recognized for their achievements at The University of Mount Olive’s Annual Awards Ceremony. Among those receiving awards were:
Kaylabeth Gudac of Pine Level, North Carolina received the Psychology Student of the Year. Gudac is a senior psychology major. The Psychology Student of the Year is awarded to a senior with a 3.0 GPA or higher. The student should demonstrate quality independent research project or clinical proficiency as demonstrated by internship site supervisor’s and university supervisor’s evaluations. The student should also display a commitment to the department/major by participating in clubs, seminars, panels and events.
Robert Purser of Smithfield received the The M.L Johnson Business Award. Purser is a senior human resource management major. The M.L. Johnson Business Award is a scholarship in memory of M. L. Johnson (1916—1969), the first Treasurer/Business Manager of The University of Mount Olive (1951 – 1961). The scholarship is given to a rising senior selected by the business faculty for greatest promise in the field of business.
