Vivian B. Harrison Memorial Lecture Series

MOUNT OLIVE – University of Mount Olive is hosting the 23rd Annual Vivian B. Harrison Memorial Lecture in Rodgers Chapel. The first lecture will be held at 7 p.m. on March 18. On March 19, there will be a 9 a.m. lecture and an 11 a.m. worship service. The lecture series will be on the topic of Sabbath.

The Reverend Marjorie Thompson will be the special guest speaker. Thompson is an ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church, USA. She has served as adjunct faculty for several seminaries, including McCormick, Auburn, Wesley and Vanderbilt Divinity School. Thompson is the author of Soul Feast: An Invitation to the Christian Spiritual Life. Copies of the book are available in the bookstore located in the Poole Building on the University of Mount Olive campus.

The purpose of the Vivian B. Harrison Memorial Lecture is to provide a medium for continuing education for the ministers and laypersons of North Carolina.
